For the second consecutive year, D Magazine is seeking to find nurses who have gone above and beyond the call of duty with its Excellence in Nursing awards program. Winners and finalists will be honored at an awards gala and featured in the March 2013 issue of D Magazine.
Last year kicked off the inaugural Excellence in Nursing awards. The process began with 349 nominated nurses and ended with an event honoring the best of the best, including a nurse who handled an outbreak at an elementary school and a nurse who worked to create virtual patients for student education. The deadline for nominations is fast approaching. Entries for all 25 award categories are due by 5 p.m. Fri., September 7. Click here to make your submissions.

Pingback: Nominate a Nurse Who Has Made a Difference | FrontBurner
M. Carol Connerly, RN at the VA, Dallas Med Ctr, Endovascular Suite demonstrates all attributes of what an exemplary nurse should be. She has thorough knowledge of each patient in her care and as a result is a resource to the surgeons and anesthesiologists. Carol often remains steadfast as a patient advocate. Her service is demanding – physically, emotionally – and yet is able to persevere in her committment to service to our country’s veterans.
I appreciate all her hard work and would like to see her recognized as she is barely visible to us here as she is always at the patients bedside and often until well past her scheduled shift.
Thank you Carol.
Yours truly,
P J Phillips, RN
