Slated for Oct. 9, MedVentures is an annual early-stage investment and education conference that includes angel investor/venture capital panel discussions, healthcare policy updates, and presentations by some of the top emerging medical technology companies in the region.
This year, NTEC received a record 80 applications. A panel of 30 reviewers from scientific and advisory boards selected the top 10 companies to present, said Dr. Hubert Zajicek, NTEC’s managing director, medical technology.
“We had a strong showing from Dallas-Fort Worth firms and have four represented among the Top 10 presenters,” he said in a statement.
Last year, seven of the 10 presenting companies secured a total f about $14 million in funds following the conference. ”Most of these were pre-revenue medtech startups—a very tough market,” Zajicek said.
