Methodist Health System will kick off construction of a 125-bed, 266,250-square-foot expansion of Methodist Richardson Medical Center with a Sept. 27 groundbreaking. The acute care hospital is expected to add more than 100 new jobs to the area and plans to serve residents in Richardson, Garland, Murphy, Plano, Sachse, Wylie, and surrounding areas when it opens in the fall fall 2014.
Slated to speak at the groundbreaking event are Stephen L. Mansfield, president and CEO of Methodist Health System; E. Ken Hutchenrider, president, Methodist Richardson Medical Center; U.S. Congressman Sam Johnson; Richardson Mayor Bob Townsend; and Joe Snayd, Methodist Richardson advisory board and capital campaign committee chairman.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon in the parking lot outside the Methodist Richardson Medical Center-Bush/Renner Physician Pavilion at 2831 E. State Highway 190 in Richardson.
