Four months after launching an organ-donation campaign in the United States, Facebook is taking the program to Canada and Mexico.
According to a NPR report, the program allows Facebook users to tell their family and friends that they’re registered organ donors. It also provides a link for people who aren’t signed up to register as organ donors where they live.
Since May, about 275,000 Facebook users posted their donor status on the site, Facebook told NPR. The program “shows the enormous potential of social media,” the report said.
