Becky Tucker, administrator for Texas Health Harris Methodist Outpatient Center Burleson, has been named to Modern Healthcare’s 2012 “Up and Comers” list.

Methodist Health System’s Michael M. Boone will receive the 2012 Methodist Health System Folsom Leadership Award.

Novation’s Jill Witter has been selected as a finalist for the 2012 Association of Corporate Counsel and D CEO Corporate Counsel Awards.

Texas Health Resources’ Chief Information Officer Edward W. Marx has received the Fourth Annual State Advocacy Award for CIO Leadership from the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives, a national organization of senior health care IT leaders.

Jessica McKinley, a senior nursing major at the Texas Woman’s University Institute of Health Sciences, was one of only 10 nursing students in the country selected for a research internship at the National Institutes of Health Clinical Center in Bethesda, Md. She was selected from an application pool of more than 7,000 undergraduate and graduate students.

COMPANIES

Parkland Health & Hospital System has been re-verified as a burn center by the American Burn Association and the Committee on Trauma of the American College of Surgeons.

Baylor Medical Center McKinney has received the Dallas Regional Chamber’s Corporate Facility Location award, after opening Baylor Medical Center at McKinney in July 2012, spending just under $200 million and creating over 500 jobs. The award is part of the chamber’s Dallas Regional Momentum Awards program.

Also recognized in the chamber program was Golden Living, which received a Corporate Headquarters Location Award after adding 100 jobs to the area.

The Venture Development Center at the University of Texas at Dallas received the Innovation Catalyst award after investing $4 million to purchase an 8,000 square-foot building that opened in the fall of 2011. To date, the center has supported 13 spinoff companies creating more than 50 jobs.

Texas Health Resources was named for the 12th consecutive year to the InformationWeek 500 List of Top Technology Innovators Across America. Texas Health was recognized for its use of technology to help prevent catheter-associated urinary tract infection.
