More DFW Clinics and Hospitals May Have Received Tainted Medicine

The Federal Drug Administration has released an updated list of North Texas healthcare facilities that received recalled products from a New England pharmaceutical distributorship at the center of a nationwide meningitis outbreak, according to a report from WFAA:

Not every facility on the list received contaminated products, but all of them were sent some type of recalled medicine from the compounding pharmacy, including three facilities that treat children:

• Children’s Medical Center Dallas

• Children’s Medical Center at Legacy

• Cosmetic & Maxillofacial Surgery Center Dallas

• Dallas Back Pain Management

• Dallas Plastic Surgery

• Dr. Douglas Lorimer, Fort Worth

• Mansfield Surgery Center

• Our Children’s House at Baylor Dallas

Two previously medical facilities on the FDA list include:

• Texas Health Southlake

• Medical City Dallas Hospital

The agency urged clinics on its list to double-check their stocks and stop using any products the pharmaceutical concern in question.
