Nation’s Executives Concerned About Healthcare Costs

Fifty-five percent of corporate executives say healthcare benefits are their top current challenge, reports HealthLeaders Media.

Roughly one third of those surveyed by Adecco SA said they are holding back hiring due to President Obama’s healthcare reforms, which requires wider insurance coverage.

Less than half of the executives surveyed believe businesses will grow profits in the next year. Smaller business operators were more optimistic than those running larger operations.

Many also reported lower profits in the last year due to government regulation, consumer confidence level, and commodity prices.

In 2007, just 35 percent of executives considered healthcare their top concern. After the election, hiring could increase again, regardless of Presidential outcome.
