Winjie Tang Miao, president of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance, has received the Outstanding Achievement Award from the U.S. Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce-Southwest Region. The award recognizes Miao for her professional success and contributions. Prior to joining Texas Health Alliance, Miao was president of Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Azle.


Texas Health Resources has been named one of America’s Top 150 Workplaces by WorkplaceDynamics, based on employee feedback in a national survey. Texas Health ranked No. 38 nationwide among 872 organizations. Results from the survey showed that companies with high levels of organizational health have the most satisfied employees.

Baylor All Saints Medical Center has received full Cycle 4 Chest Pain accreditation from the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care by demonstrating its high level of patient care. It’s ability to assess and treat patients quickly and effectively has made it the only hospital in Fort Worth to hold Cycle 4 designation.

Plaza Medical Center of Fort Worth has become the fourth hospital in the state to earn The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for its spine center. By earning the Gold Seal of Approval, the hospital demonstrated compliance with The Joint Commission’s health care quality standards and safety in disease-specific care.

Texas Health Partners, a company owned by Texas Health Resources has received a 2012 Distinctive Workplace Award from Press Ganey Associates Inc. for its high level of employee satisfaction and loyalty. Texas Health Partners is one of only 10 companies to receive the award.

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano’s Sue A. deMille Women’s Diagnostic Center has been recognized as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology for its high standards in patient care. The Center earned the designation through its accreditation in mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy and breast ultrasound.

The weight loss surgery center at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Rockwall has been named a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. The accreditation recognizes the center for its high standards of quality on a national level. The center has been working towards this accreditation since 2008 by focusing on strong patient outcomes as well as compassionate treatment.

The Virginia Clay Dorman Breast Care Center at Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth has been awarded the Breast Imaging Center of Excellence designation from the American College of Radiology. Texas Health Southwest was recognized for its high practice standards. It is the first Texas Health hospital in Tarrant County to have earned this designation.

The residency program in orthopedic surgery  under the academic supervision of the University of North Texas Health Science Center at JPS Hospital achieved a 91st percentile ranking in the annual Orthopedic In-Training Examination. The examination is used to assess the progress of resident physicians in the program. The program includes five graduates who are among the top performers on the exam.

University of Texas Southwestern Medical School has received the AMA Medical Student Section’s Event of the Month Award for its Holiday in the Park event held Dec. 15. The award recognizes recruitment, community service, education and AMA-MSS National Service Project events.

Parkland Health & Hospital System was ranked 15th on Security Magazine’s “2012 Security 500” list. Parkland was among 80 hospitals and medical centers nationally recognized for its best security practices. Parkland has maintained continual training programs in its police department, and several members of the department have received certification as Emergency Medical Technicians.
