Recognized this week are Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Rockwall and Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Azle, plus a dean at UT-Arlington’s nursing school.
Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Rockwall has been recognized as an Aetna Institute of Quality Orthopedic Care Facility for total joint replacement and spine surgery. Facilities are chosen based on consistent delivery of evidence-based safe care. “Being recognized, once again, by a major insurer is gratifying to everyone at this hospital,” said hospital president Cindy Paris. “Texas Health Rockwall intends to continue to provide the finest quality care possible; living up to the expectations of our community and surrounding areas.”
Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Azle has received the Supply Chain Excellence Award from Premier Healthcare Alliance. Texas Health Azle was recognized for superior supply expense performance based on 2012 financial data showing supply purchases as a percentage of total expenses.
Jennifer Gray, interim dean of the UT-Arlington’s College of Nursing, has been inducted into the American Academy of Nursing’s 2013 Class of Fellows. The award honors nurses whose careers have “influenced health policies and the health and well-being of all.” Gray was named interim dean in the spring, and holds the George W. and Hazel M. Jay Professorship in Nursing at the university.
