The Kupferle Breast Center at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth is the second facility in Cowtown to receive full accreditation from the National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers.
The Kupferle Breast Center offers cancer detection, nurse navigators, a cancer health kiosk, a resource center, technology such as three-dimensional mammography (which D Healthcare Daily profiled here last week), and a mobile medical unit.
Now that it’s been accredited, the center’s national recognition lands it in a National Breast Disease Database that helps report and track patterns of care as well as access to benchmarks from other top facilities in the country. The Joan Katz Breast Center at Baylor Fort Worth is the other facility to receive accreditation.
“About one in eight women will develop breast cancer in her lifetime, so it’s important we equip ourselves to offer comprehensive, patient-centered care and the best treatment options available,” Dr. Robin Skrine, medical staff director of the breast health program, said in a statement.
