Dallas County Health and Human Services reported its seventh flu-related death in Dallas County for the 2016-17 season.
According to a DCHHS statement, the 89-year-old resident of Carollton died after complications from the seasonal flu.
The DCHHS has not provided any additional information for medical confidentiality and personal privacy reasons.
DCHHS Director Zachary Thompson said the DCHHS’ sympathies go to the families and loved ones of the individuals who passed.
“These deaths are an unfortunate reminder that the flu virus is circulating in Dallas County, and does have the potential to cause severe illness and death,” Thompson said.
