Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare Corp. has named Michele Finney as its new CEO of Tenet’s Desert Market. This position was created in order for Tenet to expand its coverage outside of the South and manage the growing Coachella Valley and Morongo Basin region in California.
In her new role, Finney will oversee operations of the three-hospital system: Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, JFK Memorial Hospital in Indio, and Hi-Desert Medical Center in Joshua Tree. She will also manage clinical, urgent care, and surgery center operations.
Finney comes from Phoenix, Ariz., where she led Tenet’s six-hospital Abrazo Community Health Network since 2014. She transformed the Abrazo facilities into a unified, coordinated healthcare system by providing better access to inpatient and outpatient care for patients, and developing high-acuity services such as trauma, orthopedics, neurology, and cardiac care.
Finney says she’s excited to be given this opportunity by Tenet to further improve the reach and effectiveness of healthcare delivery in the West.
“I look forward to working collaboratively with the desert healthcare district and with all of my colleagues to fulfill our unified mission of consistently providing high-quality, compassionate care to the communities we serve,” Finney said in a statement.
