UnitedHealthcare has named Scott Flannery as its new CEO of commercial operations in North Texas and Oklahoma. He replaces Tom Quirk.

Flannery previously served in the same position for UHC from 2011-2013 and returned to the position this month. During the interim, he served as UHC’s central region growth officer and as the sales national practice lead for UMR, a UnitedHealthcare company.

Flannery says he’s “extremely excited” to be back in this role.

“The DFW marketplace is really evolving,” he said. “There’s a lot of innovation going on relating to providers and payers. … It’s exciting to work with hospital systems, partners, and other [healthcare players] to deliver a new experience to the clients that we serve.”

Flannery earned a bachelor of arts in economics and business administration from Ursinus College in Collegeville, Penn. He currently serves on the board of directors for the Collin County Business Alliance and is a member of the Junior League of Dallas Advisory Board.
