Baylor Scott & White Health has signed an agreement with Dallas-based AccentCare Inc., a nationwide post-acute healthcare provider, to establish a new home health joint venture in Dallas-Fort Worth.
The joint venture plans to clinically integrate existing agencies from the hospital and AccentCare so the hospital has more ability to provide in-home care for patients, Baylor Scott & White Health says.
The joint venture will combine four existing agencies from Dallas-based Baylor Scott & White Health and six from AccentCare. AccentCare will manage all operations.
Currently, AccentCare owns more than 130 home health and hospice locations in 11 states. Baylor Scott & White Health has a network of 48 hospitals and more than 1,000 care sites across central and north Texas.
Jim Hinton, president and CEO of Baylor Scott & White Health, says AccentCare brings significant home care experience to the collaboration with the hospital. “As health care delivery continues to evolve, this joint venture helps to ensure that high quality integrated care is available to our patients and their families in their homes,” Hinton said.
The joint venture is expected to be finalized by this summer.
