AmerisourceBergen Specialty Group hosted a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday morning for its new regional corporate headquarters in Carrollton. The campus will include 300,000 square feet of facilities and house 3,000 associates.

ABSG is part of AmerisourceBergen, a global pharmaceutical sourcing and distribution services company based in Pennsylvania. The ABSG campus will occupy 30 acres of the 1,700-acre Austin Ranch development, located at Plano Parkway and Parker Road.

Speakers at the Thursday event included mayor of Carrollton Matthew Marchant, ABSG President James Frary, and Billingsley Co. co-founder and partner Lucy Billingsley, the Austin Ranch developer. In addition to speakers, more than 40 ABSG associates and community leaders were in attendance, according to a company statement.

Frary told D CEO Healthcare the groundbreaking was a celebrational milestone for ABSG’s new headquarters. “We are thrilled to become a part of the vibrant Carrollton business community as we continue our role as an active member of the greater Dallas-Fort Worth” area, Frary said. “We look forward to bringing our responsibility to create healthier futures to Carrollton and to grow here for years to come.”

The building is scheduled to be completed in 2019.
