Dallas-based Essilor, an ophthalmic optics company reaching around one billion people worldwide, announced Dori Abendschein as its new senior vice president and CFO for the U.S. sector. She will take over for Kevin Rupp, who has announced his intention to retire in the near future.
Rupp will maintain responsibility for Essilor’s legal, IT, I-Coat, and Optisource teams and other key company initiatives as he and Abendschein work toward a smooth transition and strong succession plan.
Abendschein brings more than 25 years of experience to her role as SVP and CFO. She most recently served as senior vice president and CFO North America for Andover, Mass.-based Schneider Electric. Abendschein has also held executive titles at Brinks North America, Telecom, and Dell.
Essilor President Eric Leonard says Abendschein’s passion for finding creative and innovative solutions to solve problems, her diverse industry experience, and her wide-ranging international finance background will help drive the company’s growth and success. “As an active member of the Dallas business community, [she] will help drive closer connections for Essilor in our home town,” he said in a statement.
Abendschein earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration at Sam Houston State University.
