Access Healthcare, an end-to-end healthcare revenue cycle and information technology services provider, announced Catherine McKnight as its new general counsel. She will replace Sharon Wood, who is retiring later this month.
In her new role, McKnight will deal with issues threatening the reputation of Access Healthcare or its employees and will make sure the company operates within the law. Her expertise includes acquisitions, joint ventures, outsourcing, intellectual property, software licensing, corporate governance, risk management, and healthcare regulatory compliance.
McKnight brings to the position more than two decades of experience leading corporate legal functions in the healthcare and technology industries. Previously, she served as associate general counsel at Dallas-based Children’s Health System of Texas. She also served as assistant general counsel for Irving-based Vizient Inc. and provided legal counsel to its subsidary, Provista.
Anurag Jain, chairman at Access Healthcare, says McKnight brings a “wealth of corporate legal expertise” to its team.
“She has a proven track record of leading transactional, governance, and contract matters for leading healthcare and technology companies,” Jain said in a statement. “With her appointment, we are further bolstering our senior leadership team as we continue to focus on Access Healthcare’s growth and long-term success.”
McKnight told D CEO Healthcare: “Access Healthcare is a market leader in providing revenue cycle and information technology services to healthcare providers, and I look forward to working with the team as it continues to grow and provide innovative solutions to the marketplace.”
