Quest Diagnostics To Open 10 Clinics in DFW

Madison, N.J.-based Quest Diagnostics, a diagnostic information services provider, and Boise, Ida.-based Albertsons, a nationwide food and drug retailer, will open 10 medical clinics inside Albertsons-owned Tom Thumb retail locations in North Texas by the end of June.

The clinics will open in Addison, Dallas, Gainesville, Garland, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Keller, Plano, Rockwall, and Southlake.

According to Quest, the Dallas clinics are designed to provide convenient medical testing for residents in the area. Diagnostic testing includes routine blood tests, such as total cholesterol, white blood cell count, and complex gene-based and molecular testing. Services also cater to cancer, diabetes, and hepatitis needs.

After opening its North Texas clinics, Quest plans to have 200 Albertsons-owned locations across the country by the end of the year. The expansion is part of a company initiative to “bring diagnostic services to more people in familiar locations they visit on a regular basis.”

Keith Ward, Quest’s patient service director for its Southwest region, told D CEO Healthcare that Dallas is a large and important metropolitan area for Quest. “We know from our long history in the area that patients are highly involved in their personal health decisions,” he said. “Operating a Quest location inside Tom Thumb will enable residents to access services in their neighborhoods where they shop.”
