Dallas-based AECOM, an architecture, engineering, and construction firm, has named James Selmser as its first-ever healthcare director in Texas. This position was created to provide leadership and structure regarding healthcare program and healthcare-related project management to partners and clients in Texas.
In this role, Selmser will collaborate on various healthcare, commercial, higher education, and industrial projects ranging from $5 million to $500 million. He brings more than 20 years of experience to AECOM, specializing in healthcare, construction management, and business development.
Prior to AECOM, Selmser served as operations director at West Lake, Texas-based Broaddus & Associates. There, he notably managed a $750 million project building a level one trauma tower while working with Memorial Hermann Hospital.
AECOM said “Selmser’s vast healthcare experience” will contribute to the company’s objective in bringing “high quality healthcare program and project management” to its Texas market.
Luis Delgado, business unit leader for AECOM’s Texas and Rocky Mountain Area, said in a statement: “[Selmser’s] extensive experience in construction and healthcare will be a tremendous asset to our clients. With an extensive background in strategic planning and project management, we are confident he will help us further develop and grow client relationships and attain new healthcare opportunities throughout Texas and the region.”
