UT Southwestern has been named the best hospital in Dallas-Fort Worth by U.S. News and World Report on its 2017-2018 Best Hospitals list. U.S. News and World Report also says UT Southwestern is the No. 2 hospital in the state of Texas.
The Dallas hospital received a national ranking in six specialties, which were decided after evaluating 4,500 medical centers across the country for this year’s listing. They include: urology (No. 19), geriatrics (No. 24), diabetes and endocrinology (No. 25), neurology and neurosurgery (No. 38), nephrology (No. 39), and ear, nose, and throat (No. 50).
In addition to UT Southwestern, Baylor University Medical Center and Medical City Dallas were nationally ranked for specialty services. BUMC was ranked for ear, nose, and throat (No. 41) and gastroenterology and GI surgery (No. 29) services, and Medical City Dallas was ranked for gynecology (No. 19) services.
The top hospitals in North Texas, according to U.S. News and World Report, are as follows:
