McKinney Methodist Hospital, a joint venture between local physicians, Methodist Health System, and Kansas City-based NueHealth, a healthcare management service, will open a surgical center at Craig Ranch later this year.

The center, which will begin seeing patients in November, will be called the Methodist Craig Ranch Surgery Center.

According to McKinney Methodist, the center will move into an existing facility, The Hospital at Craig Ranch, which spans 27,000 square feet. It includes seven operating rooms and four private rooms. The new surgical center will provide full comprehensive services including general surgery, urology, gynecology, orthopedic surgery, otolaryngology, pain management, sports medicine, and total joint replacements.

Joe Minissale, president of McKinney Methodist, said in a statement: “The demand was here for more surgical capability because of the population growth in this area.” He added that the partnership is taking over the Craig Ranch facility because “we need the space now.”

This is the third location the partnership will open in Texas. It recently opened Methodist Allen Surgery Center in June. The partnership focuses on providing value-based care and personalized treatment to patients.
