Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center’s Dallas campus has named Dr. Steven Pass as its new regional dean. He replaces Dr. Roland Patry, who recently retired. Pass begins on September 1.
In his new role, Pass will work with administrative staff, faculty, and 160 students and medical residents. He will oversee TTUHSC’s school of pharmacy campus, located at North Texas Veteran Affairs Hospital, and its additional facilities around Dallas Medical District at the Southwest Professional Building.
Pass most recently served as TTUHSC’s vice chair for residency programs. Under his leadership, he reportedly strengthened the school’s residency program, exceeding the national placement success rate of 68.5 percent with an 85.4 percent placement rate. Additionally, Pass was a professor at TTUHSC for pharmacy practice.
Pass said in a statement: “I genuinely hope to provide strong leadership that will contribute to the growth and continued success of what I believe is a truly special place.”
Pass earned his Pharm.D. from the University of Kentucky College of Pharmacy in Lexington, Ky. He completed his pharmacy residency at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., and his critical care residency at The University Hospital in Cincinnati.
