Baylor Scott & White Health has opened a new cancer facility at its Round Rock hospital. The cancer center, which will offer “comprehensive diagnostic, treatment, and support services in one location, using a single electronic medical record” in a five-county market, is located on the ground floor of its Baylor Scott & White Medical Center-Round Rock campus.
According to Baylor Scott & White Health, the facility spans 38,741 square feet. The center received its full accreditation from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer in June, and will provide an array of services including an oncology integrative medicine program, a dedicated breast cancer center, oncology-certified nurse-patient navigators, and outpatient infusion services.
Baylor Scott & White Health added the cancer facility to bring all facets of cancer care under one roof within its medical center.
Jay Fox, president of Baylor Scott & White Austin/Round Rock region, said in a statement: “We are committed to providing personalized, integrated, and comprehensive care in one location so Round Rock area residents can continue to work, attend school and maintain their daily lives with as little interruption as possible. The convenience of this new state-of-the-art cancer center and access to board-certified cancer specialists will enhance the patient experience and positively impact our patients’ lives.”
