Medical City Plano will open its recently completed, expanded emergency department on September 24. The renovation added specialty pediatric rooms to its emergency department to treat younger patients.
According to the hospital, the new pediatric wing in the ED includes four dedicated pediatric rooms, a waiting room, and updated medical equipment designed to be children-friendly. The pediatric wing is staffed with board-certified emergency medicine physicians qualified to treat adults as well as children.
Charles Gressle, CEO of Medical City Plano, said in a statement: “As Collin County’s only Level I Trauma Center, Medical City Plano is the recognized market leader for trauma and emergency services for the greater North Texas region. By expanding our emergency services to include pediatrics, we can provide quality, advanced emergency care and treatment for the entire family from infants to seniors. This a powerful resource for the many families who make Collin County and the surrounding region their home.”
