Texas Health Resources was named No. 47 on the 50 Best Workplaces for Parents list by Fortune magazine and Great Places to Work. Arlington-based Texas Health was the only North Texas healthcare company to make the national list.
In September, Texas Health introduced a new “Family Friendly” policy, which includes such benefits as family medical leave, adoption assistance, flexible working hours, and onsite child care at some locations.
“Texas Health is committed to creating a family-friendly workplace environment,” Michelle Kirby, Texas Health senior vice president and chief people officer, said in a news release. “Our culture fully embraces the notion of an all-inclusive, caring family of one.”
Stacey Rowland, a nurse at Texas Health Allen and a mother of three, said having a flexible schedule is a big plus. “I feel Texas Health does a great job helping employees with work/life balance,” Rowland said. “On our unit, we are able to do mostly self-scheduling and with working nights, I am able to make it to most of my children’s school functions, sporting events, etc.”
Other North Texas companies making the list were financial-services firm PrimeLending (No. 43) and IT company Pariveda (No. 45).
