Medical City Fort Worth has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval for Chest Pain Certification. The seal is a symbol of quality reflecting an organization’s commitment to providing safe, effective patient care.
The Medical City Healthcare hospital underwent an intensive on-site review by the Joint Commission in October. The commission, the country’s oldest and largest standards-setting and accrediting body in healthcare, evaluated the hospital’s compliance with national disease-specific care standards and with cardiology-specific requirements.
The hospital’s clinical practice guidelines and performance measures were also assessed.
“Medical City Fort Worth has thoroughly demonstrated a high level of care for patients with heart disease,” Patrick Phelan, executive director, Hospital Business Development, The Joint Commission, said in a news release. “We commend Medical City Fort Worth for being a leader in chest pain care.”
