The area’s healthcare needs are expanding as North Texas booms. Meanwhile, tech and regulation have ushered in an era in which more and more medicine is practiced on an outpatient rather than an inpatient basis. This puts providers trying to figure out where to park their profits at a crossroads: Should they invest in expanding large hospitals—seeing the growing populations—or move into smaller communities with more focused models of care?
We’ve already seen a wide, creative mix from the major health systems of North Texas. At an upcoming D CEO Healthcare Breakfast Panel, we’ll gather a few of their chief executives to hear about those moves as well as their thoughts on how the modern hospital is changing. The panelists:
- Jim Hinton, CEO, Baylor Scott & White Health
- Barclay Berdan, CEO, Texas Health Resources
- Stephen Mansfield, CEO, Methodist Health System
- Chris Crow, CEO, StratiFi Health & President of the Catalyst Health Network
I’ll moderate the conversation, which will go for about an hour and include 15 minutes for audience Q&A. We’re hosting it here at the D Magazine headquarters in downtown Dallas on Thursday, Aug. 23. Check in is at 7:15 a.m., with the panel kicking off at 8 a.m. You can snag tickets—space is limited—and find more information right here. We hope to see you there.
