UTA College of Nursing Partners with San Antonio Hospital

The College of Nursing at the University of Texas at Arlington has partnered with HCA Methodist Healthcare in San Antonio to to increase students enrollment in its Bachelor of Science in Nursing program.

The UTA College of Nursing already has more than two dozen partner hospitals closer to home, but HCA Methodist Healthcare is the university’s first partner hospital in the greater San Antonio area.

The UTA College of Nursing established the accelerated BSN program in response to a growing need for registered nurses and a lack of program spaces to educate new nurses. Texas Center for Nursing Workforce Studies, Texas had a shortage of 22,000 registered nurses in 2008 and that shortage is expected to increase to 70,000 by the year 2020, according to Campus Technology.
