The Heart Hospital Baylor Denton began treating cardiovascular patients at its newly remodeled location in Denton Monday, officials said.
The 69,000-square-foot, 16-bed specialty hospital offers comprehensive cardiac and vascular services. In 2007, the Heart Hospital Baylor Plano opened as the first and only freestanding, full-service hospital in the Dallas region dedicated solely to heart and vascular healthcare. The Plano location is now one of the 10 largest cardiothoracic surgery programs in the country.
Baylor acquired the Denton facility in May 2013, and began a two-stage renovation project which is scheduled to be completed in May 2014. The second phase of construction will add six more intensive care unit suites and an additional cardiovascular operating room.
