The Texas Medical Association’s new physician services organization has named a chief operating officer.
TMA PracticeEdge, which offers everything from contracting services to technology and care coordination for independent physicians, was announced last month. Dave Spalding will be its COO. He has been involved in telehealth and served as a five-star Medicare Part D administrator. He’s also been in charge of health savings accounts and was most recently board chair of Availity LLC, a service that traded information between physicians, providers, and health plans.
“Because of Dave’s wealth of knowledge in health care management, he is the ideal choice to lead the TMA PracticeEdge team,” said Louis J. Goodman, PhD, CEO of TMA PracticeEdge, and the association’s CEO.
TMA PracticeEdge also offers value based-care services with its partner, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas.
