Legacy ER & Urgent Care, a hybrid healthcare provider based in Plano, will open its third location in Keller on October 8.
Legacy was founded in 2008 and offers both urgent care and emergency services to patients. The idea is to help its customers differentiate between the two services—if the ailment doesn’t rise to the occasion of an emergency, they’ll be sent to the urgent care area. The founders have opened two locations in Frisco and Allen. This will be its first outpost outside of Collin County.
The doors will be open to patients on Oct. 8. Urgent care services will be offered from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. while the ER will remain open 24 hours. Patients can check in online or simply walk in. The address is 1220 Keller Parkway.
“Keller is a great community, and we’re excited to be able to bring our hybrid health care model there. Now Keller residents won’t have to choose between a stand-alone ER or an urgent care facility. With Legacy, they’ll have the best of both worlds – top-rated, board-certified, emergency-trained physicians; state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment equipment; and an ‘only pay-for-the-care-you-need,’ in-network billing system,” read a prepared statement from Keith Miller, president of Legacy ER & Urgent Care.
Legacy won’t be the only game in town; CareNow has a location in Keller, and there are about a half dozen other facilities offering similar services.
