Methodist Charlton Medical Center has opened its new intensive care unit.
The 32-bed, 28,250 square foot ICU has private patient rooms with area for families to stay while their loved one is receiving care. The upgraded unit adds 40-inch flat screen televisions to each room as well as views of the Dallas skyline from its perch on Wheatland Road just south of Interstate 20. It adds new equipment such as the Prisma Flex for dialysis and new hypothermia machines to preserve the neurological function of recent stroke and heart attack patients.
Methodist Charlton is a 265 bed, general acute care hospital. Data from U.S. News and World Report shows that the facility had more than 66,000 visits to the emergency room last year.
