Beginning today, Lake Pointe Medical Center is now the Baylor Scott & White Medical Center — Lake Pointe. The rebranding is part of the nonprofit health giant’s partnership with Dallas’ Tenet Healthcare Corp., which closed back in January.
Baylor Scott & White has a majority stake in the hospital, which was formerly owned by the national for-profit Tenet. The same leadership team remains, as do the hospital’s governing boards. A new board was formed of Tenet and Baylor Scott & White representatives to ensure that the hospitals that were included in the deal adhere to a uniform set of guidelines that requires them to provide at least 4 percent of their care to charity cases and 1 percent to community service.
The other hospitals included are Centennial Medical Center in Frisco; Doctors Hospital at White Rock Lake; Lake Pointe Medical Center in Rowlett; and Texas Regional Medical Center at Sunnyvale; and Baylor Medical Center at Garland.
Baylor Scott & White officials will have a celebration at the hospital today at 5:30 p.m. led by Chief Integrated Delivery Network Officer Gary Brock and the hospital’s CEO, Brett Lee.
