Health Wildcatters has introduced a Health Investor Alliance, comprising 26 venture capital firms, as it aims to increase deal flow and exposure of the accelerator’s companies.

Huber Zajicek, CEO of the Dallas health accelerator, said most of the investors have long standing had relationships with him throughout the years. The alliance represents investors’ formal commitment to consider the accelerator’s portfolio of companies for possible investment deals. Health Wildcatters will provide investors shared office space in its green suite at its new office, located at 1910 Pacific Ave., VIP access to pitch day, and the first look at the startups. Startups will get one-on-one access to the investors.

“This should help with [startups] understanding of the role we are playing,” Zajicek said. “It’s further validation for startups that seek to be in Dallas.”

The alliance includes Austin-based S3 Ventures and Live Oak Partners, Ohio-based River Cities Capital Funds, and California-based Maxim Integrated Ventures. Local investors include Green Park & Golf Ventures, Aristos Ventures, and Naya Ventures.

“We are excited to deepen our ties with Health Wildcatters through the Health Investor Alliance,” Charlie Plauche, principal at S3 Ventures, said in a release. “We believe this initiative will help us gain better access to more North Texas startups to consider for investment.”

Health Wildcatters has had about 100 investors in its fund over its four years of operation. With the addition of the alliance, Zajicek expects to increase startup mentorship and set up possible deals. Many of the firms participating attended VC Week, the portion of the program dedicated to connecting startups with venture capitalists.

The news comes as Zajicek continues to piece together the Health Innovation Hub, a one-stop shop for resources directed toward healthcare startups. Health Wildcatters fourth class of startups were announced earlier this month. The class represents the accelerator’s most mature class yet.
