BioNorthTX, the advocacy and trade association for the region’s biotech companies, has a new president and has added board members.
Harold Strong, the former director of the University of North Texas Discovery Park, is stepping in as president and CEO. The new board members include Francois Fournier, the former leader of Galderma USA and current president of North America Advanced Wound Care at Smith & Nephew; Duane Dimos, The University of Texas at Arlington’s VP for research; and Maxwell Lea, DFB Pharmaceuticals’ VP of corporate development and corporate finance.
Co-founder and Chief Operating Officer Kay Tiernan has led BioNorthTX since its launch in 2014. She’ll stay on, in a lesser role. When: Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. followed by a welcome presentation at 8:15 p.m. Oct. 26
Where: The University of Texas at Arlington’s College Park Center, 600 S. Center St., in Arlington
What to expect: BionorthTX’s second annual iC3 Life Science Summit will include presentations and panels from life science industry professionals and networking opportunities. Among those speaking will be, Tom Kowalski, president and CEO of Texas Healthcare and Bioscience Institute, and John McWhorter, COO of Baylor Scott & White Health System. This year’s event is expected to draw about 300-400 attendees.
