Irving-based Healthcare Associates of Texas named Tom Ziesmann its new CEO. He replaces Walter Gaman, who will transition into the role board chairman for Healthcare Associates.
Ziesmann most recently served as senior vice president at Eden Prairie, Minn.-based Optum, a health services provider focusing on technology solutions. There, he directed teams providing business services to large physician groups in the U.S.
He’s also worked at the Texas Health Physician Group in Dallas and the Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati. Ziesmann led initiatives resulting in “significant growth for the organizations” during his time there, according to a Healthcare Associates of Texas statement.
Gaman said Ziesmann is a strong addition to the executive team.
“I am thrilled to have Tom bring his experience and leadership to our team as Healthcare Associates of Texas continues its expansion plans while continuing to bring high-quality healthcare to our patients,” he said. “[Ziesmann] will be an integral part of this.”
Ziesmann earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Hanover College and a master’s degree in health administration at Xavier University.
