Methodist Richardson Medical Center has partnered with Richardson-based Skiles Group, a healthcare-focused contracting firm, in the hospital’s $85 million dollar expansion. Skiles Group will serve as Methodist Richardson’s general contractor.
According to Methodist Richardson, the expansion project will add a fifth and sixth floor and 150 patient rooms to the current 191-bed hospital. A 500-space parking garage and a new surgical operating room will be built as well.
Opened in 2014, Methodist Richardson has already established a working history with Skiles Group. The firm currently is also the general contractor for the hospital’s third cardiac catheterization lab on campus.
The garage is scheduled to be complete by next spring. The entire expansion is expected to be completed within two years.
Ken Hutchenrider, president of Methodist Richardson, said in a statement: “We have worked with Skiles Group on other successful projects, and we are confident in their expertise in project planning that will allow the least disruption to our daily mission to provide outstanding patient care.”
