Medical City Denton has named John Walker as its chief operating officer, effective Oct. 23. Walker, who most recently served as associate administrator at Medical City Dallas, replaces Justin Coury, who’s taken another position with HCA. For-profit HCA is the parent company of Medical City Healthcare, which owns Medical City Denton.
Prior to joining Medical City Dallas, Walker had served as associate administrator at Medical City McKinney, where he opened a senior health clinic, achieved top employee engagement scores, and served as the chief staffing officer.
Walker holds a master’s degree in health administration from Trinity University, as well as MBA and BBA degrees from Texas Tech University. He’s served on the board of directors for Community Lifeline Center and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Medical City Denton is a 208-bed, acute-care hospital with more than 850 employees, 300 physicians, and designation as a Level III Trauma Center.
