A hospital owned by Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare has been cleared by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Service after receiving a termination notice last month, according to this Becker’s story citing a paywalled Birmingham Business Journal report.
The hospital at question was Brookwood Baptist Medical Center in Birmingham, which received notice in May that it was at risk of losing its Medicare billing privileges. A survey by CMS found staff inside the psychiatric unit used inappropriate restraint methods on multiple occasions, Becker’s reported.
The termination date was set for May 31, but Tenet submitted a plan of correction and CMS rescinded the notice. A second survey showed steps had been taken to correct the issues.
