The Texas Medical Board has temporarily suspended a Stamford, Texas physician’s license without notice because a “continuation in the practice of medicine poses a continuing threat to public welfare,” a release says.
Dr. Douglas Kruckner was found to have engaged in a sexual relationship with a patient while prescribing that patient controlled substances. He was arrested for possessing marijuana and methamphetamine, which he admitted to using, and for possessing the associated paraphernalia. The release says “Kruckner also appears to be nontherapeutically prescribing opioids, benzodiazepines and other controlled substances to his patients.”
The release says the the temporary suspension will remain pending further action. A three-year-old article in the Stamford American says Kruckner was part of the medical staff at Stamford Healthcare System.
