Texas Health Resources and Encompass Make Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work

Texas Health Resources and Encompass Health have both been named to Fortune’s 100 Best Companies to Work this year. For Texas Health, it is the fifth year in a row the hospital system has been named to the list. Texas Health cracked the top 10 at number nine, while Encompass was ranked 54. Both companies were also named to Fortune’s best places to work for women this year as well. The publication partners with Great Places to Work to survey 300,000 employees nationwide. For Collin County Moms, Medical City Plano is the “Best Place to Have a Baby”

Medical City Plano has been voted the “Best Place to Have a Baby” by readers in CollinChild magazine. Texas Medical Association Foundation Awards Local Garden Nonprofit

Dallas nonprofit Promise of Peace Gardens has been awarded the 2019 John P. McGovern Champion of Health Award by the Texas Medical Association Foundation. Promise of Peace promotes gardening, nutrition, and giving in Dallas’ food deserts. The group earned the award for its Soup It Forward program, where it provides monthly ingredients and recipes for soups for 15o families. Families in the program help tend the gardens, learning how to grow food and engage in their community. They take home a sack of nutritional vegetables to prepare and share with their neighbors. Texas Health Recognized by Forbes as Top Employer for Diversity

Forbes ranked Texas Health Resources 140th on its list of Best Employers for Diversity. A total of 500 employers were honored based on employee surveys. Respondents answered open-ended questions about age, gender, equality, ethnicity, disability, LGBTQ+ and other diversity measures. Cary Council Recognizes UT Southwestern Doctors for Promising Research

The Cary Council has recognized three UT Southwestern doctors with grants for their early stage research. Dr. Prasanna Alluri, Dr. David Greenberg, and Dr. Animesh Tandon were this year’s recipients at the DocStars event this fall. The Cary Council is a group of young leaders who support the Southwestern Medical Foundation and UT Southwestern Medical Center, and the Cary Council Steering Committee selected this year’s winners.
