Tenet Healthcare subsidiary United Surgical Partners International announced that Brett Brodnax, President and Chief Development Officer of USPI, will be its Chief Executive Officer. Brodnax has been with USPI for 19 years, and will follow Bill Wilcox in the role. Wilcox will continue to be Chairman of USPI and Vice Chairman of Tenet Healthcare. USPI serves around 2.5 million patients each year and works with over 9,000 physicians and over 50 health system partners nationwide. UTSW will have a new Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, Provost, and 16th Dean of UT Southwestern Medical School this February, when Dr. W. P. Parkland Names Two New Senior Vice Presidents

Parkland Health and Hospital System named two new vice presidents this week. Vivian Johnson has been named senior vice president of clinical services and John Raish has been named senior vice president of support services. DFW Emergency Medicine Group Bought by Major Hospital Staffing Firm

Fort Worth-based Emergency Medicine Consultants Ltd. has been acquired by hospital staffing firm TeamHealth, the companies said on Monday. EMC provides emergency medicine staffing, deploying about 330 physicians to 24 facilities and an urgent care center across Dallas-Fort Worth. The company also has 80 advanced practice clinicians and, overall, cares for 900,000 patients a year. EMC physicians staff hospitals within Texas Health Resources and Methodist Health System, among others. TeamHealth was bought by private equity firm Blackstone Group in a $6.1-billion deal that took the company private in early 2017.
