Healthgrades, an online resource for information about physicians and hospitals, analyzed 4,500 acute care hospitals for clinical quality, outcomes, and patient experience in their  2019 Report to the Nation, as well as the 2019 National Health Index, a study analyzing which cities are doing healthcare well. North Texas didn’t stand out overall, though several hospitals received awards for various procedures. A Handful Of North Texas Hospitals Win Healthgrades Awards For Women’s Health Outcomes

Six hospitals in Dallas-Fort Worth popped up as recipients of 2018 Women’s Care Awards from Healthgrades. The awards span three categories—gynecologic surgery, labor and delivery, and obstetrics and gynecology—with some hospitals winning multiple categories. Medical City Healthcare took home the most hardware; three of the system’s facilities combined for six total awards. The awards are based on patient outcome data from 2014 through 2016, which Healthgrades analyzed to find its honorees. The award winners fall in the top 10 percent of hospitals evaluated. North Texas Hospitals Appear On Healthgrades’ 2018 Lists for Safety and Patient Experience

I missed this from earlier in the month, but Healthgrades put out its annual lists of hospitals that provide the highest level of safety and best patient experience. There are a good number of North Texas hospitals on each. Healthgrades, an online resource that helps place patients with providers, looks at 13 patient safety indicators within Medicare data to compile its safety list, which it says represents the top 10 percent of all short-term acute care hospitals reporting the data.
